Puncture proof tyres, maybe?
Share
The owner of this bike is a tubeless convert, he hasn't had a puncture in years. However, the time had come when the tyre was worn out an needed replacing. Just look what we found inside. So much solidified latex that it had formed a tube within the tyre. The rider's approach was to squirt some latex in through the valve every few weeks because he didn't really know how long it would last and how much remained. It certainly guaranteed no punctures. At a guess the amount of dried latex was heavier than an inner tube and it took a considerable effort to clean the wheel. Just for fun we cleaned the tyre, refitted and inflated it to try and work out how many punctures the tyre had suffered. At a conservative estimate around 10 but probably many more. For all the doubters tubeless just works! If you need help choosing, fitting or using tubeless we would be happy to help.
